#SoEveryoneCanGame

Roland C

Roland, an African=America male with a black hoodie. He is in a wheelchair holding a joystick in his hand.

Roland is from Kansas City, MO. He suffered a spinal cord injury and a stroke which impacted his life and his ability to game. Ability KC, one of AbleGamers partners, connected Roland to our program. Through meetings with his Occupational Therapist at Ability KC, we were able to find a setup that worked for him.

We were able to grant an Xbox Adaptive Controller and some switches and had it set up for him in his home. When asked how the AbleGamers Peer Counselor helped, Roland said, “The peer counselor helped to connect me to the adaptive gaming and it was great to gain another friend/mentor in the gaming community.”

Roland looks forward to playing 2k, Madden, MLB, and UFC with his new gaming setup. We are so happy we could help him in his quest to get back to gaming.
